Dear parents, guardians, and students,
As Baguio City has just transitioned from General Community Quarantine (GCQ) to Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), below are information and guidelines with regards to safety on campus while processing clearances and enrollment. Kindly note that these guidelines will be reviewed and revised accordingly based on updates from the national and local governments and feedback/review of our processes.
Please be assured that Brent School continues to adopt the best guidelines to ensure the safety of all who enter, study and work at Brent.
Office hours for clearance and enrollment:
We are scheduling more days in the week for parents to return school materials, pick up personal belongings, settle balances, and to reserve for next school year. The accounting, registrar and library staff will be available from Monday to Friday, from 9:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. This will be the weekly schedule during the summer until further notice.
Entry to campus & Registration
One (1) representative of your family should come prepared to return books and other materials, pay tuition and reservation fees, pick up students’ personal belongings and complete other year-end procedures. Please take special note, students will still not be permitted on campus as they are classified as youth and not permitted by the governing authorities to leave their household for non-essential reasons under GCQ guidelines.
All persons entering the campus are requested to register by filling out a Visitor Health Checklist form.
This form is available in paper form at the Guard House or online prior to entry via this link: VISITOR HEALTH CHECKLIST
In allowing individuals to come to school during this time we have had to develop strict guidelines to help deter the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
No mask, No entry. Wear face masks at all times. When wearing a face mask, make sure to wear, use, and discard it properly.
Register and have body temperature checked @ the guardhouse. Temperature =/> 37.5 will be isolated and rechecked after 5 mins. Individuals with a high temperature will not be permitted on campus. The guardhouse will practice sanitation measures such as disinfecting pens and other high touch items. Alcohol is available for disinfecting hands.
Practice social distancing when queueing and whenever in the presence of others, at a distance no less than 1 meter from front, side, and back, at all times.
Disinfect shoe bottoms by stepping on provided footbath mats located before the entrance of office buildings.
Sanitize hands with the sanitizers provided in each office.
Follow unidirectional exit and entry points.
Observe proper respiratory etiquette:
Coughing and sneezing into a tissue or into shirt leave if a tissue is not available.
Disposing of used tissues properly
Disinfecting hands immediately by properly washing with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitizer immediately after a cough or sneeze.
Report cards and transcripts will only be provided once the clearance has been processed, and will be available once completed. Parents may check the status of their clearance with Ms. Jennie Umaging, Assistant Registrar.
All loaned books are to be returned throughout the summer. If the parent/family and books are outside of Baguio, books may be couriered to Brent School using the following address. A photo of the waybill is to be emailed to Ms Pau Egino for tracking. Only until the books have been received will the student be cleared. If there are other concerns, please direct them to me via email: [email protected]

Grade 9-11 Locker Locks. These will need to be returned at the library as well to Ms Pau. Please give the code to Ms Pau for resetting locks.
Payment of Balances
The school cashier will be open to you for settling of balances, reserving for next school year, or for any questions you may have.
Ganza and Awards
The quarantine delayed the printing of our Ganza yearbook. We expect they will be available for pick up in late July or early August. Graduates’ medals and pins as well as students’ awards and plaques will be made ready if they were not yet given in a student’s packet . The school through Ms. Pia (MS/US) or Ms. Cot (LS) will notify you for pick up or courier arrangements.
(Lifted from Mr. Petrillo’s email dated May 7) The first day of classes will be Monday August 24. Please refer to our website for our school calendar. This will be the start date whether we meet face-to-face or are required to start online. To adjust for this later start, we have replaced several holidays with instructional days during the semester. The ability to continue with Home Learning during typhoon days and the likely cancelation of some activities will also help curriculum coverage during the first semester.
We request families to plan on being in the Philippines by August 9 in case there is a need to self isolate or other restrictions in place that may interfere with instruction.
A team put together a list of summer resources for LS, MS, and US parents and students to try and enjoy. We have the link here: LS, MS, US ONLINE ACTIVITIES FOR THE SUMMER
As always, we will keep monitoring our local, national and international situation and will be prepared for SY 2020-2021. We will continue to communicate updates.
Know that we remain ever committed to our mission and to delivering high quality education– with the warmth and heart of family.
Let us all, as one Brent family, keep praying for our world’s healing.
Thank you and have a safe and productive summer break, Bulldogs! God bless us all!
On behalf of your Brent Baguio admin, faculty and staff,
Dr. Celeste R. Coronado
School Principal/IB Coordinator
