Dear Brent Community,

TGIF! This second week of Semester 2 has been packed with many exciting activities! Here are some acknowledgments and updates:

  1. BRENT CUP, SATURDAY, JAN 14- Congratulations to Coach Drew Hare, Athletic Coordinator,  and our coaches, Coach Boy and Coach Grace (Girls’ Basketball) and Coach Kris and Coach Drew (Boys’ soccer),  support staff (accounting, maintenance, cafeteria, clinic, transpo, IT, security, and admin staff), PTA, parents, students (volunteers and audience), faculty,  visiting teams and alumni for supporting Brent Cup! Well done to all, especially since this is the first time in three years we have hosted again! More photos to come!

3. InterBrent Collaboration last Saturday: Thanks to members of the Baguio faculty team who participated in the curriculum summit for all three campuses (Baguio, Subic, and Manila) last Saturday, January 14.

4. Grade 4 and 5 | COLLABORATION WITH VIVTA PH: To develop an interest and appreciation of the intricate interdisciplinary connections particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), the Grade 4 and 5 students and Ms. Kat have been learning about the relationship between Forces and Motion through an interactive and fun collaboration with Vivita Baguio. Students have been building and programming a robotic cart as a group (three-four students to a group).

 

This project  will culminate in a robokart race on campus with their watermelons as passengers in Feburary. Parents and teachers were encouraged to form teams and participate as well! Thank you to Ms. Kat Moredo, Lower School Head, the VITIA team, and Mr. Gabe Mercado, Country Director for fostering personal growth and character development with experimentation, scientific method, collaboration, and a growth mindset.

5. House games: Thanks to Coach Boy, our House Heads, and House Leaders for facilitating a fun day of House Games yesterday. Cheering for all houses as they prepare for Field Day on February 3, Friday. Field Day Schedule as of Jan 20 here,

10. ISAC Basketball /Football Information

ISAC Season 2 is happening next week– January 26-28, 2023 (Thursday-Saturday) at Brent Subic! Teams will be leaving on Wednesday, January 25, at 10:30 a.m. from the campus. The girls’ basketball and boys’ football teams have been working hard to prepare for the tournament! Cheering for our Bulldogs!
