Dear Brent Community,

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, I am pleased to share our chapel theme: Be Respectful of Each Other.

Respect is more than being polite. It is shown in the way we speak, listen, disagree, include others, and care for the people around us. The words of Jesus in Matthew 7:12 remind us to consider how our actions affect others and to offer the same kindness, dignity, and understanding that we hope to receive.

At Brent, respect is at the heart of who we are. It is reflected in our Brent Crest Values—bravery, knowledge, loyalty, integrity, courtesy, honesty, sincerity, and camaraderie—and in our commitment to becoming responsible global citizens and leaders.

This theme is also reflected in our Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLRs). We aim to grow as:

Responsible Citizens who contribute positively to their communities;

Critical Thinkers who listen carefully, consider different perspectives, and make thoughtful decisions;

Technologically Literate Individuals who use digital tools safely, responsibly, and ethically;

Healthy Individuals who care for their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being;

Tolerant Individuals who respect the dignity, cultures, beliefs, and experiences of others;

Effective Communicators who speak with courtesy and listen with understanding; and

Life-Long Learners who remain open to reflection, growth, and new ways of seeing the world.

To our students: May you help make Brent a place where everyone feels safe, included, heard, and valued.

To our parents and families: Thank you for partnering with us in teaching and modeling respect at home, at school, and in the wider community.

And to our faculty and staff: Thank you for showing our students each day that respect is expressed not only through words, but through patience, fairness, compassion, and care.

As we begin another year together on this Magic Mountain, may we remember that every person is worthy of dignity and kindness. Through our daily choices, may we continue building a community where we truly respect and care for one another.
