Dear Parents and Students,

We hope this message finds you well!

We would like to extend our gratitude to all the parents who attended the recent MS/US Tea Party and LS Tea Party. Your presence and participation are greatly appreciated.

Tea Party Presentation Slides: For those who missed the Tea Party presentations, the slides for each session are now available. You can access them through the following links:

After-School Soccer Program: We are excited to announce that an after-school soccer program will be starting for LS, MS, and US students. The program will be led by Coach Boy, Coach Grace, and some upper school facilitators. Sessions will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday after school from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM, beginning this Friday, August 25th, and running until Friday, October 27th.

All students are invited to join, and they have the flexibility to attend on any of the specified days. However, please note the following important points:

  • Sign-Up: Before attending, students must sign up using the parent permission and waiver slip. Coach Boy or Ms. Pia will provide the necessary forms. Please approach them.

  • Rainy Days: In case of rain and program cancellation, parents must be informed and available for pick-up.

  • Attire: Proper sports attire is mandatory for participation. Students without appropriate attire will not be allowed to play.

  • LS Students: LS students will be accompanied to the field by our Grade 9 student facilitators: Emelie Gertes, Hanah Nassr, and Andre Bautista.

Assemblies and Meetings:

  • Wednesday, August 23: Academic Honesty Assemblies were successfully conducted for MS/US students. New students met with Ms. Marj at the Dining Hall, while returning students had their assembly with Ms. Laura at the chapel. LS students had a Netiquette assembly. The slides used will be shared via a separate email.

  • Thursday, August 24:A meeting with House Heads and Leaders to plan out the pep rally and other activities for the year (3:15 PM – 4:00 PM) at the Dining Hall.

Upcoming Events:

  • Friday, August 25: Volleyball First Cuts will take place on this day. It’s a crucial step in forming the 15-player roster for the upcoming season.

 

  • Museum Visit | Friday, August 25: Grade 10 Art class and Grade 11 IB Art students will visit Museo Kordilyera, UP Baguio, from 1:15 PM to 3:45 PM for an enriching museum experience.Thank you to our Art faculty, Mrs. Marites Castro and Dr. Julie Sibucao, for organizing this trip!

 

  • No Classes: Please be reminded that there will be no classes on Monday, August 28, for National Heroes’ Day, and on Friday, September 1, for Baguio Day. Classes will resume on September 4, Monday and we will follow a Day 2 schedule to align with other Brent campuses.

 

  • August 30, Wednesday: Join us for the JCO, STUCO, House Leaders, Class Officers, and PTA induction with a sermon by Mr. Robbins at St. Nicholas Chapel.

 

  • National Honor Society (NHS) Non-Uniform Day: On August 31, Thursday, celebrate Baguio and Cordillera culture by wearing red, green, yellow, black, Cordilleran attire, or any outfit showing appreciation for Baguio. A participation fee of 50 pesos will be collected, with proceeds supporting the NHS legacy project. Kindly observe the dress code.

 

  • Uniform Update: We’re pleased to inform you that our latest order of hoodies and sweatshirts has just arrived. Here’s the link for details encompassing our authorized attire, sizes available, and corresponding prices. Kindly note that certain items will require pre-ordering, which might entail a two-week waiting period. We greatly appreciate your patience as we strive to offer optimal choices for our students.

 

  • Brent History Talk with Mrs. Ursula Doaey (former Deputy Headmaster) Middle School students, get ready for an exciting opportunity to learn firsthand about the rich history of Brent Baguio! Mrs. Geraldine Reyes, our dedicated Social Studies Teacher for grades 6-8, is thrilled to invite Mrs. Daoey, a respected member of our Brent community, to be a guest speaker. Join us on Thursday, August 31st, from 8:35 AM to 9:50 AM, as Mrs. Daoey shares her experiences and insights about Brent Baguio’s journey. Don’t miss this chance to connect with our school’s heritage and gain valuable insights. Thank you to Mrs. Daoey and Mrs. Geraldine Reyes for making this event possible. See you there!

 

  • MAP Testing: Our Fall MAP testing is scheduled this September 4-8, 2023. You can find the detailed schedule here. Students 3-10 will be tested on the following subject areas: Reading, Language Use, and Math. These tests provide us with helpful information around student growth and learning areas/skills.   • SAT Testing on August 26, 2023. Our campus is a registered test center for SAT and ACT. This Saturday, we will be facilitating the digital SAT. For more details about testing at our school please visit the school website and collegeboard.org.
