7. Lower School Matters from Ms. Kat Moredor, LS Head Teacher

Dear Parents,

Today was full of wonderful and exciting energy! The team and I are happy to welcome you all to the school year 2023-2024.

Here are some reminders for the first day of school tomorrow.

  • Tomorrow is Day 1. There is no late start, so the day starts at 7:30 am. Homeroom starts at 7:45 am.

  • PK/K, Grades 1/2 please come in PE uniform. Grades 3/4 and 5 please come in regular uniform.

  • Drop off and parking area for Lower School will be at the St. Nicholas Church parking area (formerly Griffith’s Theater). There will be security officers to help guide you and faculty to help welcome your children.

I know that the first day of school can be a little bit overwhelming for both parents and children. Here are a few tips to help make the day go smoothly:

  • Get a good night’s sleep. Both you and your child will be more relaxed and ready to go if you are well-rested.

  • Eat a healthy breakfast. A good breakfast will give your child the energy they need to start their day.

  • Pack a healthy lunch. Avoid sugary snacks and drinks.

  • Arrive early. This will give you time to get your child settled into their classroom and meet their teacher.

  • Be positive! The first day of school is a new beginning. Make sure your child knows that you are excited for them to start this new adventure. We’re all about making mistakes, having fun, learning and growing.
