Week of November 4-9, 2024
Welcome back, Brent community!
We hope you all had a restful All Saints Break from October 26 to November 3. During school and the break, Typhoons Kristine and Leon brought challenging weather conditions, and we are grateful to everyone who supported our transition to online learning during the Typhoon Kristine closure on October 24-25.
Here are some news/updates for the week: Acknowledgement for ISAC Season 1 | We are thrilled to celebrate the successful completion of ISAC Season 1, which took place from October 14 to 20. This event showcased not only the athletic talents of our students but also the spirit of camaraderie, resilience, and sportsmanship that defines our Brent community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated coaches, who have invested countless hours into training, guiding, and inspiring our student-athletes. Your commitment goes beyond the game; you have instilled values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance that our athletes will carry with them throughout life.
Special thanks go to our Athletics Coordinator, Ms. Nicolai Carino for her exceptional coordination and organization, ensuring that all aspects of the tournament ran smoothly and that every participant felt supported. We also acknowledge the tremendous effort of our administration, staff, and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event a success.
Thank you to all the faculty, staff, students and families who supported us virtually. Your encouragement lifted our athletes and added to the vibrant, inclusive spirit of ISAC.
Thank you, PTA, headed by Mrs. Tina Campos, PTA President and our amazing parents who supported our athletes through their loud cheers and team dinner. Special thanks to PTA for sponsoring the athlete’s team bags.
Lastly, we commend our student-athletes, who represented our school with excellence and integrity. You made us proud, and we look forward to your continued growth and accomplishments in future seasons.
Congratulations to everyone on a remarkable ISAC Season 1. Here’s to many more successful seasons to come!
Looking forward to Season 2: Boys Football and Girls Basketball

Brent Flexible Learning Plan Activated: Due to the potential impact of Typhoon Marce, Friday, November 8, may be a No-In Person Day. If conditions necessitate, we will activate the Brent Flexible Learning Plan, providing students with learning packets and online resources to ensure continuity in their studies.
-
To support continuous learning during unexpected closures (such as typhoons), we’re pleased to introduce Brent Flexible Learning Plans. These plans provide a structure for students to stay engaged through a combination of Google Classroom, learning packets, and, when possible, live online classes. We recently piloted these plans on October 24-25, and we’re ready to use them as needed, with flexibility for conditions like internet access, electricity, and attendance.
-
If Typhoon Marce leads to a no-class day on November 8, we will activate the Flexible Learning Plans. Please know that safety is always our priority, and we understand that individual circumstances may impact participation. These plans are specifically for school-wide closures due to typhoons and do not apply to regular holidays or individual absences.
