Dear Brent Community,

As we enter the final two weeks of the school year, we carry with us deep gratitude for all that we’ve shared—challenges overcome, milestones celebrated, and moments that brought us closer as a community. Thank you for the heart, hard work, and hope you’ve poured into this year.

  • IT Mini Expo | We’re looking forward to an exciting showcase at the upcoming BISB Mini IT Expo this Tuesday, May 6! Featuring the innovative work of our Grade 9 and 10 students under the expert guidance of Mr. Kurt Salvador, the expo promises to highlight creativity, robotics, coding, and critical thinking in action. Let’s come out to support and celebrate the future of tech at Brent!

May 8 (Thursday, Day 1)

  • Special Schedule – Cross Country Part 2
    To celebrate Cross Country Day, we’ll follow a special schedule on Thursday! The run begins at 8:40 AM, followed by adjusted class periods ending at 3:30 PM. All students should come in running attire and bring a change of clothes. Let’s make it a day of fun, fitness, and Bulldog spirit! Please take note of our special schedule.

     

May 9 (Friday, Day 2)

🚌 Grade 10 Field Trip & Overnight Bonding
May 9–10, 2025

Our Grade 10 students will embark on a meaningful overnight bonding experience from Friday, May 9 to Saturday, May 10, with stops at Dinosaur Island, Harbor Point, and SM Olongapo, and an overnight stay at Brent Subic.

This activity is designed to strengthen friendships, build mutual respect, and prepare students for their final two years in high school—especially as they enter the Brent Diploma and IB Programme.

📍 Departure: 6:00 AM (Flagpole area)
📍 Return: 1:00–2:00 PM the following day

  • 🛌 Pajamarama: JCo Non-Uniform Day – May 9, 2025 for PreK-Grade 11 students and teachers/staff | Get ready for a cozy and meaningful Friday! PreK-Grade 11 students and teachers are invited to come to school in school-appropriate pajamas as part of the Junior Council’s fun and purposeful Non-Uniform Day: Pajamarama.

    • 🎯 Goal: Raise funds for the Redeemer Homeless Mission Boys’ Room Tile Project
      💸 Suggested Donation: Any amount – all contributions make a difference!
      📌 Who Can Join: All students and staff

    • Let’s show our Brent spirit by being comfy for a cause and supporting this student-led outreach initiative!

    • Note: Grade 12 students will need to be in their uniform as it is an IB exam day.

  • 🧩 Grade 9 Class Bonding – May 9, 2025

    • Our Grade 9 students will enjoy a well-deserved bonding experience on Friday, May 9! With stops at Hotel Grande, Baguio Country Club, Foam Café, and Brent Baguio, the activity is designed to strengthen friendships and foster a deeper sense of unity and appreciation among students.

May 10 (Saturday)

🏆 BISB Junior Invitational – May 10, 2025 (Saturday)
We’re excited to announce that Brent International School Baguio will be hosting the BISB Junior Invitational on Saturday, May 10, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (tentative) at the Brent Field. More details to follow.

This friendly football tournament brings together student-athletes from Brent and various schools and clubs in Baguio and La Union. It’s a wonderful opportunity to foster sportsmanship, community engagement, and love for the game.

Brent’s participating students will be supervised by PTA and faculty soccer supervisors with safety support from our clinic, maintenance, and security teams. Thank you to our coaches and supervisors!

  • April 28 (Monday): Our Earth Week activities ended with a meaningful Sustainability Stories Chapel with Mr. Raf Dionisio, hosted by YLC. His afternoon talk on Regeneration Stories inspired local action for global change. Huge thanks to our emcees Paolo Marquez and Emelie Gertes (Grade 10 students).

  • April 29 (Tuesday): Students from GIN presented reflections from their Mount Camisong experience. Your passion for environmental stewardship continues to motivate our community. Thank you to GIN students and supervisors Ms. Donna Nebrija and Ms. Geraldine Reyes!

  • April 29 (Tuesday): Grade 10 RS teaching parables to the Lower School students in lieu of Lindawan Elementary School community project, since they ended their academic year during the Holy Week. They wrote a parable and creatively presented it through an eBook. Here is the link to their eBooks

  • April 30 (Wednesday): The Staff Appreciation Chapel, led by STUCO, celebrated our dedicated teachers and staff. Thank you to our Student Council officers and representatives and supervisors, Mr. James Young and Ms. Nicolai Carino! Thanks to all our staff for everything you do.

  • April 8, 29, and 30: Grades 6, 7, and 9 series of drawing workshops with our amazing Brent parents Mrs. Gia Bongco and Mrs. Bonnie Lee Jamieson. Grades 6 and 7 had botanical drawing and pointillism portrait drawing with Grade 9. Thank you to our guest facilitators! Thank you to Dr. Julie Sibucao for coordinating this amazing learning opportunity!

 

✅ Grade 8 Bonding Night

Our Grade 8 students enjoyed a meaningful overnight campus bonding activity, filled with teamwork, reflection, and laughter as they celebrated their final weeks of Middle School.

Special thanks to Ms. Marriet Cobaldez, Mr. Michael Johnson, and our supportive faculty and staff for making the evening both safe and memorable.

 

🎉 PTA Family Bingo Afternoon
Thank you to our PTA Officers, especially Mrs. Melan Marquez, Mrs. Tina Campos, and the Bingo Committee, for organizing a joyful and well-attended Family Bingo Afternoon! Your time, creativity, and generosity brought the Brent community together for an afternoon full of connection and fun.

 

  • May 3 (Saturday): Congratulations to our athletes for the 4th Football Friendly Games. Despite the downpour, your enthusiasm and sportsmanship shone through. Special thanks to Coach Boy, Ms Nicolai and the Athletics Team.

  • SEL Classes April 22 – May 2, 2025: Heartfelt thanks to Ms. Danni Addug (Parent) for facilitating Sound Meditation Activities with all our students! Her sessions focused on teaching and applying mindfulness strategies that reset the nervous system and allow bodies and minds to relax, regulate, and recharge – promoting emotional well-being and focus for learning as we enter the last stretch of the school year. 

 

Let’s continue to support one another and finish strong. These final two weeks are not just a closing chapter—they’re a celebration of everything we’ve accomplished together.
