Dear Brent Community,

We look forward to another meaningful week on campus as we begin Book Week, continue our Lessons & Carols preparations, and gather for Thanksgiving activities. Thank you for the warmth and partnership you bring to our community.

Our warm congratulations to the Global Issues Network students and chaperones for the successful Beach Clean-Up and Youth Advocacy Workshops at Kahuna Hotel, Cafe and Restaurant, La Union (November 16–17). Thank you, Ms. Donna and Ms. Geraldine, for guiding our students in this important initiative. Thanks to Mr. Douglas and Mr Paul for being part of the chaperone team.

Friday, Nov 21- Saturday, Nov 22
• Subic Cup (N. Cariño) Cheering for our Bulldogs!
• Boarding: Dinner Out (Bonchon), 6:00–8:00 PM

Week of November 24–28

Monday, Nov 24 – Day 1
• Book Week Begins
• LS Production Practice (3:00–4:00 PM), Chapel

Tuesday, Nov 25 – Day 2
• LS Production Practice (7:45–8:30 AM + Block 1) – Tech Rehearsal (TBC)
• Lessons & Carols Rehearsal (3:00–4:30 PM)
• BM11 Business Pitch 2025 (2nd Block, viewing at OH-01)

Wednesday, Nov 26 – Day 1
• LS Block 1: Polish dances and blocking
• Thanksgiving Holy Eucharist | All are invited.
• Simple Tree Lighting (5:30 PM) | All are warmly invited to gather in community. (Special thanks to the Girls’ Basketball Team for assisting with this simple celebration.)

Thursday, Nov 27 – Day 2
• LS Chapel General Practice (7:45 AM)
House Games | BOTTLE MOVER ( using the Robots created by the robotics club ) for Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors | Mechanics:

  1. Members of the Robotics club will be assigned to each house ( Red, Yellow and Blue )
  2. Each house will be allowed five (5) members. We can divide them further based on grade level ( juniors, intermediates, seniors)
  3. Each house will be assigned a robot and a member or members of the robotics club ;
  4. Where applicable, each member of the robotics club will be assigned to their respective house ;
  5. Objective : Using the robots, each house will have to:
        Gather five water bottles and move them to a designated area ;
        Each bottle will be loaded with different quantities of water;
        The houses will be allowed to make small modifications to the robot for it to be able to lift and move the bottles;
        When brought to the designed area, all bottles will have to be standing ; 
  6. The team that finishes in the least time wins.

BOOK WEEK: November 24–28

Led by Ms. Alcantara, Ms. Francisco, and Ms. Egino.

Book Week highlights include:
• Guest authors for LS, MS, and US
• Literature corners and classroom challenges
• Daily Book Trivia at the Library (recess)
• Book-themed activities throughout the week
• Book Character Dress-Up Day on Friday (LS Parade during recess)

Mark your calendars! Our annual Book Week (November 24-28) is just around the corner, and we’re kicking things off with a special Assembly on November 19th!

Join us as we launch a whole week dedicated to the power of stories, knowledge, and community, celebrating how reading connects us to a brighter tomorrow.

Week Highlights You Won’t Want to Miss!

  • Assembly Launch (Nov 19): We’ll be bringing all grade levels together for an amazing reading and activity session! Upper School students will team up with Lower and Middle School students to create, connect, and celebrate reading together. Get ready to meet your reading buddies!
  • Meet the Authors Day (Tuesday, Nov 25 – Long Homeroom):
    • Lower School (Little Theatre): Meet Ms. Steffie Torres, storyteller and crafter! She will be sharing a story and guiding students in a fun arts and crafts activity, helping every child discover the artist within.
    • Middle & Upper School (Chapel): Meet local journalist, author, and environmental advocate Ms. Nonnette C. Bennett! Come hear about her inspiring career and her award-winning ecological parable, Moonbeams.
  • Daily Trivia Contest (Nov 24-28, Recess, Library): Test your book smarts and win bragging rights!
  • The Grand Finale (Friday, Nov 28): Dress Up Day!
    • For All Levels: Come dressed as your favorite story or novel character!
    • Lower School: Join the fun and show off your costume in a special Parade during recess!

Let’s make this Book Week the best one yet, as we discover how “Reading is the bridge to a future full of hope!” We can’t wait to see you dive into the magic of books!

Catholics for Family and Life Seminar

A Catholics for Family and Life seminar will be held at the Brent Guest House on November 22–23. For those interested, you may contact Mrs. Kar Sison (Brent parent) at 0917-400-3413.

Christmas Market @ Brent – November 29–30, 2025
Join us for a festive weekend of unique gifts, delicious food, and holiday music! This event supports Vivita’s STEAM programs for young innovators.

As Book Week begins and we gather for Thanksgiving, may we celebrate this season with gratitude, imagination, and joyful learning. Thank you for supporting our programs and for helping Brent remain a place of purpose and warmth.
