WELCOME TO SEMESTER 2 !

Dear Brent Community,

As we settle back into our school rhythm this January, we take a moment to thoughtfully close Semester 1 with gratitude and to acknowledge a meaningful highlight from its final weeks. Before fully turning our focus to the work ahead in Semester 2, it is important to recognize the collective effort, creativity, and care that brought our community together as the semester came to a close.

Acknowledgments: An Out of the Box Christmas

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who made An Out of the Box Christmas a spectacular and memorable production.

To our Lower School students, your dedication, creativity, and joyful performances brought the spirit of the season to life. Your enthusiasm, confidence, and hard work were evident on stage, and you made our community incredibly proud.

We extend special recognition to Mrs. Jennifer Leung-Francisco, overall director and coordinator, whose vision, leadership, and thoughtful guidance brought this production together so beautifully, and to Ms. Shelley Segundo, our music director, for ensuring that every musical element was inspiring and expertly executed.

Our sincere thanks also go to the entire Lower School Production Team for your collaboration and commitment throughout the process, as well as to the technical crew, production team, and support staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes—from choreography and set design to logistics, lighting, sound, and technical support.

To our PTA, Brent families, faculty, staff, and community members, thank you for your encouragement and presence. Your support created an atmosphere of warmth and celebration that made this event especially meaningful.

An Out of the Box Christmas was a true testament to teamwork, creativity, and the shared joy of learning and performing together.

Cold Weather Clothing Guidelines

As we continue to experience cooler weather, students are encouraged to dress warmly while observing the Brent dress code.

  • Warmers or thermal wear may be worn under the Brent uniform.

  • Brent jackets/sweaters are encouraged as the outermost layer whenever possible.

  • Non-Brent jackets are allowed until further notice due to the cold weather.

  • Mufflers/scarves and earmuffs may be worn for added warmth, provided they are simple and appropriate for school.

Families may visit the bookstore for Brent cold-weather apparel. Thank you for helping us keep students warm while maintaining a neat and respectful school appearance.

Visiting Artist: Paul Colman at Brent Baguio | Concert in the Pines

We are pleased to share that Paul Colman, an internationally known songwriter, performer, and educator, will be visiting Brent International School Baguio on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, as part of his engagements with all three Brent campuses.

Paul Colman is widely respected for his work as a musician and storyteller, and for his ability to connect music with meaning, creativity, and purpose. During his time with us, he will:

  • Lead a Songwriting Workshop for Middle and Upper School students, with Grade 5 joining, launching a broader songwriting learning experience. More details to come.

  • Perform for the school earlier in the day

Conclude his visit with an open-air community event, Concert in the Pines, from 5:30–6:30. Paul will also be visiting Brent Manila and Brent Subic, making this a shared Brent Schools experience and a special opportunity for our students and wider community. The Concert in the Pines is envisioned as a signature Brent Baguio moment—bringing together music, creativity, nature, and community. Reservation and seating details will be released soon.
