Brent Bulletin
Week of March 9, 2026

Dear Brent Community,

Warm greetings to everyone as we begin another full and vibrant stretch of the semester. The coming weeks bring many opportunities for learning, service, athletics, and community gatherings. Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute to the life of the school in so many ways.

Acknowledgements (March 2–7)

We extend our sincere appreciation to the many members of the Brent community who helped make last week’s activities meaningful for our students.

  1. Our Cross Country event was a wonderful reminder of perseverance, discipline, and the joy of healthy competition. Congratulations to all participants and to the students who earned first, second, and third place medals in the boys’ and girls’ divisions. We are especially grateful to Coach Boy, who organized the event with dedication and care. His leadership continues to encourage our students to pursue excellence, resilience, and a love for healthy activity.

  2. We would also like to thank all faculty members for their work in preparing student assessments and feedback for the mid-semester reporting period. Special thanks to Ms. Jennie Umaging and Mr. Kurt Salvador, along with the report cards team, for coordinating the preparation and release of the Mid-Semester Reports on Friday, March 6.

  3. We also commend the students who represented Brent in BIOLYMPIA 2026: The Inter-High School Biology Quiz Bee and Poster Making Contest, which was held on March 7 at the University of the Philippines Baguio. Our students participated in both the quiz bee and poster-making competitions alongside students from other schools in the region. We commend Isabela Marguerite Malota and Paolo Federico Marquez for their participation in the Poster-Making Contest. We also celebrate Rachel Lee, Chobeen Lee, and Fed Gabriel Ortiz for earning First Runner-Up in the Junior High School Biology Quiz Bee, and Sangseo Yoon, Tim Oliver Schmack, and Luven Margaret Pescador for winning Champion in the Senior High School Biology Quiz Bee category.  Our thanks to Ms. Alexis Jade Fesalbon, who accompanied and guided the students throughout the competition. From the library:

The Brent Library is celebrating Brent@117 with a Brent Day Book Buffet, beginning this week and continuing until the last day of classes in March. Students are invited to “feast” on our wonderful collection of stories, discover new books, and spend time reading in the library.

We also congratulate our Reading Champions who completed their book goals last month: Leah Oh, Jia Cao, Zoey Ma, Alexandro Limali, Charissa Candelaria, Ian Choi, Alexa Reyes, Summer Dy, Baron Oh, and Inigo Aquino.

Students are also invited to capture their favorite reading moments at the library photo booth set up in the library as part of the celebration.

Our thanks to Ms. Pau and the Benguet State University Library Interns Joredin Andres and Javil Aboc for organizing this wonderful initiative that encourages reading and celebrates 117 years of Brent together through stories and learning.
