Dear Brent family,

As we enter the final stretch of this academic journey, it’s with both excitement and reflection that we approach the closing chapters of another remarkable school year at Brent International School.

Please note that Lower and Middle School students will have whole day classes and will be engaged in various end-of-semester activities until May 16, Thursday.

For the Week of May 13-19:

  • May 13, Monday – Day 1

    • No late start (Monday schedule, No bells)

    • We ask parents/guardians to pick up their child/children on time at 2:30 p.m. as we will be having our Employees’ Year-End Fellowship. No supervision will be provided on campus as the campus will close at 2:45.

  • May 17, Friday – Day 1:

    • NO CLASSES

    • FACULTY IN-SERVICE

    • Prom 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

  • May 19, Sunday:

    • Kaya Football Clinic hosted at Brent 3-5 pm  (final clinic)

For the Week of May 20-23: culminating end-of-year activities schedule | PreK students will have separate reminders from their HR teacher for these final days.

  • Before report cards are released on May 21, Tuesday after the Moving Up Day (Tuesday), students must complete the clearance process.

  • Culminating Activities: Please refer to the culminating end-of-year activities schedule from May 20-23. May 20 and 21 will be on a half-day schedule.

  • The last day of attendance for PK-Grade 10 is on May 21, Tuesday.

  • Grade 11 students are required to attend the Earn the Gown presentations on May 22, Wednesday and Graduation on May 23, Thursday. They do not have to report to school at 7:45.

  • Report cards: Report cards will be released via BASIS on May 20 (Monday), while printed reports will be distributed right after the Moving Up Day ceremony, May 21 (Tuesday).

  • May 20, Monday:

    • Earn the Gown Presentations | Wednesday, 22 May 2024 | 2:00pm – 3:30pm | REQUIRED ATTENDANCE FOR SENIORS AND JUNIORS

    • Juniors come to school to attend the presentations (no need to come at 7:45).

    • Faculty report: 7:30-3:30

  • May 23, Thursday:

    • Baccalaureate Service – St. Nicholas Chapel 8:30am

    • Reception follows at the Brent Dining Hall at 9:30am

    • Commencement Ceremony – Brent Gym 10:30am

    • RELEASE TIME OF FACULTY: AFTER GRADUATION

  • We express our appreciation to everyone involved in the Last Chapel, marking the conclusion of a significant chapter for our school community. Thank you!

  • A big thank you to the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) for organizing the final assembly from 3:00 to 4:30 in the Dining Hall.

  • Heartfelt thanks to the PTA for hosting the Family Bingo Day from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Brent Gym, providing an enjoyable evening of family-friendly entertainment.

  • Our appreciation goes out to Dr. Julie for coordinating the Community Outreach activity from 7:45 to 10:00 a.m. for Grade 10 students, fostering empathy and social responsibility. Well done!

  • Special thanks to the Student Council (STUCO) for their visit to the Dialysis Center in L.T. after 4th block, demonstrating our commitment to community service.

  • Special thanks to the National Honor Society (NHS) for their after-school activity at 3:00, fostering a spirit of service and leadership among our students.

  • We commend all participants and organizers of the Sports Clubs for their dedication throughout the season, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.

  • We thank the organizers of the Kaya Football Clinic for hosting their event at Brent from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., providing valuable opportunities for skill development and sportsmanship.

As we prepare to bid farewell to another academic year, let us recommit ourselves to the values that define our school – integrity, compassion, and a dedication to lifelong learning. Together, with a spirit of encouragement and growth, we can continue to elevate the Brent education experience and foster a community of excellence.
