Dear Brent Families and Students,
Good evening. We know that another day away from campus is disruptive for many of our students and families, and we very much share the hope of returning to regular in-person learning as soon as conditions and official directives allow.
For tomorrow, Thursday, August 20, however, pursuant to Office of the President, Malacañang Memorandum Circular No. 131, together with the advisory released by the Baguio City Government through the Office of the Local Chief Executive, Brent Baguio will continue with our Flexible Learning Plan tomorrow.
The Memorandum Circular directs public and private schools in Benguet and other affected areas to implement alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures.
We will therefore continue with our Flexible Learning Plan.
For Grades 3–12, students will follow synchronous online learning using the Day 1 schedule, with Google Meet links available here:
7:45–7:55 – Attendance / Homeroom
8:00–9:00 – Block 1
9:05–10:05 – Block 2
10:05–10:25 – Recess
10:25–11:25 – Block 3
11:30–12:30 – Block 4
For Grades 3–5, live sessions will generally remain shorter within each block, with additional offline or hands-on learning. For PreK–Grade 2, learning will continue primarily through prepared materials and teacher guidance.
Students joining Google Meet sessions should be on time, prepared, in proper Brent school uniform, and ready to learn. Cameras should normally be on, with reasonable exceptions for legitimate connectivity, technical, health, or personal concerns.
We understand that power and internet conditions may vary. Students who are unable to join a live session should continue through Google Classroom or other learning materials and communicate with their teacher when able. Teachers will continue to extend reasonable flexibility where needed.
Faculty need not report to campus tomorrow and will conduct their synchronous classes online. Those who prefer or need to work from school may do so, with access to classrooms, internet, and school resources.
As Memorandum Circular No. 131 leaves private-sector work arrangements to the discretion of management, school offices and boarding services will remain open, and non-teaching staff will report to work as scheduled. Our boarding program will continue to provide supervision, meals, care, and support for students residing on campus.
We recognize that these continued disruptions are not easy. We will keep monitoring official advisories, weather conditions, and the actual situation on the ground, and we will adjust as soon as it is appropriate to do so. Safety, learning continuity, and what is realistically manageable for our students, families, and staff will continue to guide our decisions.
Please continue to check your email and our official school communication channels for updates.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and continued support.
Warm regards,
