Brent International School Baguio welcomed parents and guardians back to campus for the SY 2026–2027 Tea Parties. Continuing a longstanding Brent tradition, the Tea Parties brings families, teachers, and administrators together early in the school year.
Held over two days, the Lower School Tea Party on August 25 and the Middle and Upper School Tea Party on August 26 provided families with an opportunity to reconnect with the school, meet faculty members, learn about programs and activities, and hear about the school’s priorities for the year ahead.
One Family, One Mission, One Future, One Brent
This year’s gatherings carried the message “One Family, One Mission, One Future, One Brent,” emphasizing the partnership among students, families, faculty, staff, and school leadership that remains central to the Brent experience.
Parents received updates on the school and its programs, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, House and student activities, sports and ISAC activities, CAS Clubs, the Cameron Forbes Hall Boarding Program, and PTA initiatives. Faculty members were also introduced, while homeroom sessions gave parents opportunities to connect more directly with the teachers working with their children.
Looking Ahead Together
The Tea Parties also provided an opportunity to share Brent Baguio’s goals for SY 2026–2027:
- To help every student thrive by maintaining a safe and supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and flourish.
- Continue the WASC Self-Study, a process of reflecting on current practices, recognizing strengths, and identifying priorities for continuous improvement. Building on feedback from students and parents, as well as the WASC Self-Study and IB Evaluation, Brent aims to continue strengthening teaching, learning, collaboration, and student well-being.
Updates on the International Baccalaureate programme further highlighted Brent Baguio’s continuing commitment to an internationally recognized education. The IB evaluation process itself encourages schools to reflect on programme implementation and uses stakeholder feedback to support continued programme development and improvement.
A Campus That Continues to Grow
Families were also introduced to recent improvements around the Brent Baguio campus. These included improvements to the campus road, Music Room and cafeteria, as well as the covered walkway connecting areas of the school.
Alongside these physical improvements, families learned about activities that strengthen connections across the wider Brent community, including the Inter-Brent IT, Librarians, and Nurses Summits and the Inter-Brent Sportsfest.
These initiatives reflect an important part of the Brent experience: while each campus has its own community and character, Brent Baguio is also part of a larger family connected through shared traditions, collaboration, and purpose.
Partners in the Brent Journey
Perhaps the most important part of the Tea Parties came through the conversations between parents and teachers.
The Lower School program concluded with opportunities for parents to get to know their children’s homeroom teachers, while Middle and Upper School families participated in grade-level breakout sessions with homeroom teachers.
These conversations reflect what the Tea Party tradition has always been about: keeping the connection between home and school strong.
Education is most meaningful when students know that the people around them are working together to support their learning and growth. By bringing families and educators together early in the school year, the Tea Parties helped renew that partnership for SY 2026–2027.
