On September 16, 2026, the Brent International School Baguio community gathered to celebrate the PTA Induction Service, welcoming our newly elected Parent-Teacher Association Board, Members-at-Large, committee members, and homeroom representatives.
The service centered on the theme “Be Respectful of Each Other,” inspired by Matthew 7:12: “Always treat others as you would like them to treat you.” Through prayer, Scripture from Colossians 3:12–17, and music, the gathering reflected on compassion, kindness, humility, and the vital importance of working together in unity. The newly sworn-in leaders affirmed their commitment to serve the best interests of our students, parents, faculty, and administration.
In her address, PTA Co-President Mrs. Melan Marquez shared an inspiring vision focused on empowerment and active participation:
“Empowerment is not about taking over. It is about opening doors… Don’t just support your PTA. Be part of it.”
Mrs. Marquez emphasized that strong leadership is about creating opportunities for everyone to contribute. She envisioned a PTA where parents have the confidence to speak up, teachers feel genuinely supported, and the entire school operates as a true team.
She also offered a thoughtful reminder to students about family support: whether parents are able to attend campus events regularly or are supporting from home, their love, pride, and encouragement remain constant. She challenged the adults in our community to model confidence with humility, courage with kindness, and leadership with the wisdom to know when to follow.
Looking ahead, Mrs. Marquez left the community with a clear benchmark for the school year:
“I hope we remember that WE SHOWED UP FOR ONE ANOTHER.”
We look forward to a school year filled with active partnership, stronger connections, and a Brent community that continues to show up for one another!
