Don Josephus Raphael Eblahan, a member of the BISB Class of 2015 recently bagged the Short Film Grand Jury Prize at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival held at Park City, Utah, United States from January 20-30, 2022. As posted on the GMA Network Site, “The Headhunter’s Daughter” follows the story of Lynn (Ammin Acha-ur) who leaves her family behind to traverse the harrowing roads of the Cordilleran highlands in the Philippines, to try her luck in the city as a country singer.

In recognition of this accomplishment, the Philippine Senator Lito Lapid file Senate Bill 991. Among others, it states that “recognizing this milestone of Don Josephus Raphael Eblahan is in accord with the 1987 Constitution’s acknowledgement of the importance of arts and culture in fostering patriotism and nationalism and in promoting total human liberation and development. Mr. Eblahan deserves praise and commendation for bringing pride and honor to the country and for serving as an inspiration for future generations of Filipino artists”
