On September 30, 2026, the Brent International School Baguio community gathered in the Chapel for the solemn and celebratory National Honor Society (NHS) Induction Service. Grounded in the school’s theme of respect and mutual care—echoing Matthew 7:12, “Always treat others as you would like them to treat you”—the ceremony recognized outstanding students who exemplify the core values of the organization.

LIGHTING THE PATH: THE FIVE PILLARS OF NHS

During the ceremony, five key candles were lit, each representing an essential ideal that members pledge to live by:
  • Scholarship: A commitment to lifelong learning, diligence, and intellectual curiosity through hard work and effort.
  • Leadership: Guidance that exerts a wholesome influence, setting an example of courage, initiative, and selflessness for the benefit of others.
  • Character: Demonstrating truthfulness, honesty, humility, and high ethical standards in all aspects of life.
  • Citizenship: Active, mature responsibility and civic engagement within both the school and broader community.
  • Service: A dedicated willingness to volunteer time and talent without expectation of monetary reward or recognition.

WELCOMING NEW INDUCTEES AND STUDENT LEADERS

The service marked the formal induction of new members from Grades 10, 11, and 12, as well as the installation of the newly elected student officer team. Together, the inductees and officers took their pledges, promising to uphold the organization’s high standards, serve those in need, and lead courageously. Inspiring scripture lessons, including Philippians 3:12–14 and Matthew 5:14–16, reminded the student body to continuously strive toward their goals and let their light shine before others.
The event concluded with musical praise, prayers of thanksgiving, and a warm reception in the Dining Hall for guests, faculty, and families.
