Rain could not stop the action as the Brent International School Baguio Boys’ and Girls’ Volleyball Teams took to the court for tune-up games against Berkeley School on October 9 at the Brent gymnasium.

Despite the persistent rain, both teams embraced the opportunity to compete, using the games as valuable preparation for the season ahead. The matches provided players with an opportunity to put their training into practice, sharpen their skills, and gain valuable experience in a competitive setting.

More than simply a series of games, the tune-up matches gave the Brent athletes a chance to develop teamwork, communication, discipline, and composure under pressure. Every rally and every point offered another opportunity for the players to learn from one another and continue building chemistry on the court.

The challenging weather added another layer to the day. Rather than letting the rain dampen their enthusiasm, players and coaches remained focused on making the most of the opportunity to compete.

Facing Berkeley School also provided a meaningful test for both the Boys’ and Girls’ teams as they continue preparing for season 1 of the International Schools Activities Conference (ISAC) that will be hosted by Cebu International School. Tune-up games such as these allow athletes to identify areas for improvement while building confidence and strengthening the team spirit that will carry them into the season.

For the Brent volleyball teams, the message was clear: the rain may have been relentless, but so was their determination.
