Dear Brent Community,
Warm greetings! As we begin a new week, we look back with appreciation on the activities that brought September to a close and welcome a busy October ahead. Thank you to our students, faculty, staff, parents, and coaches for continuing to support the many academic, leadership, performing arts, athletics, and community activities taking place across campus.

Friday, October 16 – Day 1 | Pep Rally
We will follow a special Day 1 schedule so that all four academic blocks can be completed before the afternoon Pep Rally. Classes will run through 12:40 p.m., followed by lunch and changing/assembly time before students proceed to the gym. The Pep Rally will begin at 1:45 p.m. and conclude at approximately 3:30 p.m.
This adjusted schedule also supports our travel arrangements for faculty attending the EARCOS Weekend Workshop, who will be departing for Manila immediately after the Pep Rally. It allows us to preserve the full academic morning while accommodating both our school activities and professional development commitments.
EARCOS Weekend Workshop | October 17–18
As part of our continuing commitment to professional growth and effective teaching and learning, a group of Brent Baguio faculty will leave right after Pep Rally and will participate in the EARCOS (East Asia Regional Council of Schools) Weekend Workshop, “The Active Classroom: Harnessing Movement for Engagement, Learning, and Community Building,” on October 17–18 at Brent International School Manila. Participants from different international schools across the region will be attending.
Led by Mike Kuczala, the two-day workshop will explore practical, research-based strategies for integrating movement into the classroom to strengthen student engagement, learning, physical well-being, class cohesion, and community building.
The workshop also provides an opportunity for our educators to learn alongside colleagues from Brent Manila, Brent Subic, and other international schools in the region. We look forward to bringing back ideas and strategies that can further enrich teaching and learning at Brent Baguio.
Saturday, October 17
-
PTA Community Pickleball Meet and Play | October 17 | The Brent PTA will host a Community Pickleball Meet and Play on Saturday, October 17, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Gym. The activity is designed as a casual and welcoming opportunity for parents, guardians, faculty, alumni, and members of the Brent community to enjoy the sport while promoting wellness, connection, and good sportsmanship.
A short Alumni vs. PTA exhibition match will also be held after the Pep Rally on Friday, October 16, before the announcement of the House winners.
Participants and guests are reminded that usual school safety and security procedures remain in effect. All minors must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult, non-Brent guests must register at the Guardhouse, and smoking, vaping, and pets are not permitted on campus. The PTA will also be coordinating participant registration, event supervision, safety arrangements, and other activity logistics.
