August 28, 2026

Dear Brent Community,

Thank you to everyone for your continued flexibility and support as we implemented our adjusted school schedule this week. The additional Homeroom/Late Start times and adjusted dismissal times have helped us recover instructional time while keeping our regular school days as intact as possible.

We appreciate the cooperation of our students, parents, faculty, and staff throughout August 24–28. We will continue with these schedule adjustments through September 5.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS | AUGUST 24–28

Monday, August 24 – Day 2 | Our Lower School students began Production Auditions, while the cast of The Little Mermaid Jr. continued rehearsals. Our student-athletes also continued Volleyball Training in the afternoon.

Tuesday, August 25 – Day 1 | Our JCo candidates delivered their campaign speeches during Long Homeroom in the Little Theater as part of this year’s student leadership elections. We also welcomed our Lower School parents for the Lower School Tea Party. Thank you to all our parents who joined us for the afternoon and for continuing to strengthen the partnership between home and school.

Wednesday, August 26 – Day 2 | We gathered for our First Holy Eucharist Chapel, with Father Richard and EDNCP Bishop Richard Stone Banagui. Our students also participated in the JCo Elections, an important opportunity to exercise student voice, leadership, and responsibility. Thank you as well to our Middle and Upper School parents who joined us for the MS/US Tea Parties. We appreciated the opportunity to connect, share information, and begin the school year together. Volleyball Training also continued in the afternoon.

The planned Academic Honesty Assembly with the English and Modern Languages Department is moved to September 8.

Thursday, August 27 – Day 1 | Our House Heads and House Leaders met in Ogilby Hall 6 to begin planning and finalizing their House themes in preparation for our upcoming Pep Rally.

Grade 8 Religious Studies Community Service

Thank you to Dr. Julie Sibucao and Manong Dacs for supporting our Grade 8 students in their Religious Studies community service project. On August 27, the students participated in an activity dubbed as Rooted in Responsibility,  a tree-planting activity at the Baguio City Arboretum in Leonard Wood, in partnership with the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO). The activity gave our students a meaningful opportunity to put their learning into action through service, environmental stewardship, and care for the wider community.

Friday, August 28 – Day 2 | With changing conditions in Baguio, Brent activated our Hybrid Learning arrangement, allowing learning to continue both on campus and from home. Thank you to our faculty, students, and families for adapting once again and helping us continue to experiment, learn, and improve how we respond when circumstances require flexibility.

Thank you as well to everyone who supported the National Honor Society’s Baguio Day-Themed Non-Uniform Day. Students, faculty, and staff came dressed in the colors of Baguio’s flowers and helped support the NHS Legacy Project through their ₱50 contributions.

We also received the results of our JCo Elections. Congratulations to all students who stepped forward as candidates and participated in the democratic process.

Congratulations to the new set of Junior Council Officers!
