The momentum toward international schools returning to face-to-face classes is slowly growing, and as a result, you can expect more frequent updates coming from my office.  As I've mentioned in a prior email, the Department of Education has released Memorandum No. 071, s. 2021, which recognizes “the unique nature of International Schools” and their “capacity to implement face-to-face classes outside the 120 pilot schools.” This is a very positive development, and it clears the way for independent approval via the Department of Education, Department of Health, IATF and our Local Government. The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a service of Scripture and song that dates to the late 19th century. In this service, we listen to nine Scripture lessons which recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News. Each lesson is followed by a carol or song that reflects on the lesson's message and a brief prayer. Brent International School Baguio has been celebrating this service as far back as the 1920’s and it has become one of the many endearing traditions of the school.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Reading Awareness Week! The authors from our virtual Booklatan inspired us to appreciate books more and to become better writers. Daily book trivia games with our school librarian showed us that there’s more to the books we’re reading. Lastly, today’s dress up day gave us the opportunity to share our favorite book characters.

Due to the strict health and safety protocols that continue to remain in place in our region that prohibits students from entering school premises, we regret that our school will not be able to open for the SAT and ACT Test Administration this DECEMBER. All registered test takers should communicate with SAT or ACT directly for questions and requests for rescheduling or refund. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
